After the great reception our first Dickies X Slam city collection got we jumped at the chance to work with Slam city again. Teaming up with them once more, we had no doubts about what we wanted to do. It's always best to represent what staff, team and customers are interested in so we fixated on one of our most popular Dickies items.
Instead of opting for a regular Dickies trouser, this time around we chose to work with the New York Cargo Pant and offer three colour choices...These are basically some of the best trousers out there for skateboarding. Lightweight, hard wearing and a good fit. They are available in Olive, Black or Camo and come branded by us and Slam City.
We wanted to represent this meeting of minds with a recognisable artistic vision to tie it all together and it didn't take long to settle on one of Slam's oldest friends. Mark 'Fos' Foster is the brains behind Heroin Skateboards among other things. He was working for Slam when he decided to start a skateboard company and his story is closely intertwined with ours. We hit him up for a graphic we could use for this collection after he had designed the Slam City Skates font which appears throughout. He came back with an amazing illustration celebrating our history. He took the shop front of our old Neal's Yard address and immortalised it with this drawing which appears as a backprint on both of the T-Shirts. We put a bow on this collection by adding a handy Martinsville bag which is available in two colours.
We had Mark Jackson film and edited a new video piece. He took to the city streets with Slam team riders Darius Trabalza and Neil Smith plus special guest Dickies team rider Tom Knox. Sod & The Comic Opera soundtracked this video project. It's always good seeing the products we worked on performing in the wild as was intended.
