Our second featured Independent Maker is German BMX rider Felix Prangenberg. Born in Neuwied, Germany, an hour from Cologne, Felix was introduced to the world of bikes by his father who was an avid Mountain bike fan. After his initial exposure to mountain bike racing, the gift of a BMX one Christmas was the turning point for Felix.
After finishing school, Felix did an apprenticeship for a year, but it wasn’t giving him enough time to ride at the same time. He realised he could make a living off BMXing and decided to do that full time instead.
Felix lives and breathes BMX, explaining in the video that he looks at the world from a very different lens, eyeing up every ridable feature possible. With a huge level of focus and determination, he’s had an incredible couple of years, being capped by the silver medal at the X Games in Shanghai 2019 – which was only his second X Games appearance.
