Bib Overalls-

Dickies Liberty Stripe Bib Overall - 1954

The Liberty Stripe Bib Overall from 1954 features the red label with yoke/horseshoe logo, has generic buttons and manufactured hardware as opposed to earlier hardware that looked more handmade. The fabric crosses the body at the centre back to help straps stay on shoulders.

The front chest pocket is divided into two large pockets by a pencil division at centre. There is also a side entry watch pocket. The buttonhole at the top of the chest is for the end of the pocket watch chain. Hand sewn repairs at the inseam.

Dickies Hickory Stripe Bib Overall- 2018

At first glance, the Hickory Striped Bib Overall from 2018 looks very similar to the Liberty Stripe Bib Overall made in 1954.

It has a large bib pocket with pencil & watch pockets, a double tool pocket, hammer loop and has triple stitched seams. Made from 100% cotton, 10oz hickory stripe.

Dickies Hopewell Bib - 2018

The Dickies Hopewell Bib is a modern twist on the original Dickies bib overalls. It’s a stylish bib overall dress made for women - the trousers are cut off transforming this classic bib into a dress.

It features a large bib pocket, a double tool pocket and hammer loop. Made from 100% cotton.

Shirts
THEN:
Dickies Cotton Work Shirt - 1940

The Dickies Cotton Work Shirt made in the 1940’s featured the maroon label with gold letters, felled seams, placket front, banded collar. Resin buttons had come into use by this time and were pretty much indestructible. Work shirts in this era were advertised to be “made like a dress shirt” to instill pride of appearance.

Dickies Work Shirt - 2018

The current Dickies Work Shirt still looks very similar to the original work shirt- with the double chest pockets and the relaxed fit.

THEN:
Dickies Top Hand Ranch Shirt - 1950's

This denim shirt featured a three-point yoke back and single point pocket flaps. White enamel snaps were used; three on the cuff and one on the sleeve placket. The cloth is 6.5 oz. fine weave cotton denim.

It was important for ranch wear to be slim fitting to prevent snagging and tearing clothes when riding horses through brush or rough country.

Dickies Penngrove Shirt - 2018

The Dickies Penngrove is a long sleeve bleach stonewash denim shirt. It features double chest pockets similar to the Dickies denim shirts made in the 1950s. Made from 100% cotton.

Dickies Work Pant- 1930's

The Dickies Work Pant featured the Dickies logo which had a black background label with “Brushstroke” Dickies lettering. The pant had wide tunnel belt loops and a button fly.

NOW:
Dickies Original 874 Work Pant- 2018

The current Dickies Original 874 Work Pant features the wide belt loops continuing from the 30’s work pant. They come in an original fit, straight leg work, are wrinkle resistant and have been stain released.

These iconic pants have become a popular item of clothing worn by skaters ever since the early 90's due to its durability

Jackets:

THEN:
Ranch Wear Jacket- 1940s / 50s

Dickies began producing denim jeans and jackets in the late 1940s as part of a “Ranch Wear” collection for men and boys. The items were intended for use by real Texas cowboys and their families. Later they were advertised for dude ranch wear which was evidently popular in the early 1950s. This jacket is classic jean jacket styling and the presence of only one pocket indicates it is an early example. Great hand-sewn repair and patching with similar fabric. Generic non-logo buttons and burrs.

Dickies Raw Cotton Duck Jacket- 2018

This denim jacket from the Dickies 1922 range took influence from the ranch wear jackets from the 40s/50s. It features traditional workwear fabric in a classic zip front jacket with dual entry patch front pockets and a vintage print label patch taken from a 1940s/50s garment.
