So the season is almost over and although we have had a few venue and date changes we have managed to avoid the harsh weather the UK has had this summer and sent every round off in the sunshine.

Our penultimate round 5 was held at Holdshott Trails in Hampshire on the 6th of September and what an amazing day it was with blazing sunshine, Awesome trails and a level of riding that has really superseded what we expected from this year.

After a few delays due to technical issues with the sound system we managed to kick round 5 off at 1pm which gave the riders plenty of practice throughout the morning to put their runs together and have a sessi on with the lads.

Open Riders were up first for their qualies with 12 in the group it was going to be a tight round as at least 6 of these riders are fig hting for top 5 overall in the series.

The level of riding from the Open Class riders has been insane this year and its really getting harder to judge than the pro class.

Although only Jack Ambler was tricking the drop the riders were really using the course well and throwing together some really decen t runs, Rich Hemingray (The Table Top Master) was cruising through the lin e in his normal style popping the sweetest tables all over the course whi lst Ben Nolan was out to pull a few new tricks he’d been working on at the Holdsh ott Jam the day before.

Will Brock was yet again throwing down the smoothes t 360’s we’ve seen in Open Class for a while and the Trail Master Ali Dunn was out to get a final spot.

After the 12 riders had 3 runs each with their best run counting the top 8 went through to the finals:

Jack Ambler

Harry Campbell

Jack Cardy

Cameron Crozier

Darren Estall

Will Brock

Ali Dunn

Ben Nolan

With the Open riders out the way the Pro riders hit up the course and started to smash big banger tricks out one after the other.

Nangle pulling sevbombs (720s) Matt Scott trying to pull sevbombs mid course Daryl Brown’s 360 double bars, Matt Jones 360 tuck to bars it was all going off.

Alfie Stephens came out with super smooth 3 downsid e whips on the last and Freddy Pullmans front flips were almost through the tree tops and yet again Danny Stewarts disco cans to pendulums made him loo k like a flying octopus. After the riders had had their runs the top 7 went through.

Matt Jones

Ryan Nangle

Daryl Brown

Freddy Pullman

Tom Reynolds

Alfie Stephens

Tom Cardy

After a bit of lunch and time for the judges to wor k out scores and finals seeding the Open Class riders climbed the start drop ready for their 3 final runs.

Harry Campbell managed to pull a frontflip tuck no hander which left him with an ear to ear smile, Cam Crozier 3bar and flipbar w ere to perfection as was Jack amblers Downside Tailwhip over the hip.

1 st Jack Ambler Barspin drop, Downside whip, Truck, Tu ck to bar, flip bar to tuck

2 nd Harry Campbell X-up 1foot, 360, Superman, Frontfli p Tuck no hander

3 rd Cameron Crozier Tuck, 3Bar, Flip, Flip bar

4 th Darren Estall Tuck, Flip X-up, Tuck to Bar, Flip b ar

5 th Will Brock 1foot Table, 360, 360, flip can

To end the day the pro riders had their bit of prac tice before the finals then all got their game heads on to produce some of the best runs we have seen at DWUK full stop.

With all the othert finalists 360ing off the drop l ocal boy and Holdshott 3 times winner Ryan Nangle decided to do it the opposite wa y then shut a sevbomb down on the last. Alfie stephens chucked a double t ailwhip in mid set whilst Mat Jones decided on a super flip.

Daryl Brown seems to have mastered the Decade as he was shutting them down time and time again throughout the day on the last jump as was Freddy Pullman with his Flip bar to Tuck combo.

1 st Ryan Nangle Oppo 3 Drop, Tailwhip, Barrel Table, Flipwhip, 720

2nd Freddy Pullman 3 Drop, Downside Whip, 360 tuck, Flip Bar to Tuck, Front Flip
